Description
Description
The Bivouac, pronounced “biv∙ou∙ac,” refers to a temporary, minimalist shelter used by outdoor enthusiasts and soldiers. For those truly immersing themselves in nature, when you can't carry a lot, you want the best. HIRSCH The Bivouac honors those adventurous spirits brave enough to take the road less traveled.
The Bivouac is a "high malted barley" straight bourbon distilled in Bardstown, Kentucky - the world capital of Bourbon. Batch AHH 1223 is a blend of two bourbons, 90% of the blend is distilled from mash bill of 74% corn, 18% rye, 8% malted barley, aged 4 years and 8 months. The remaining 10% is distilled from a high malted barley mash of 72% corn, 13% rye, 15% malted barley, aged for at least 5 years in Char #4, 18 month air-dried, new American Oak barrels, for added complexity.
Each bottle of this small batch bourbon is identified with a batch number on the tax strip and updated whiskey specifications on the back of the bottle.
The Bivouac is bottled at 100 proof with approximately 160 barrels produced in each batch. Enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or in your favorite cocktail.
