Bowmore is Scotland’s original Islay distillery, having handcrafted its award-winning single malt whisky since 1779. Bowmore Distillery is one of an ever decreasing handful of distilleries to produce its own floor-malted barley. The barley is still laboriously hand turned by the Maltman using the traditional wooden malt shovel. Bowmore lies at the heart of the island, on the shore of the Loch Indaal, and is regarded as the ‘Best Balanced’ Islay malt whisky, characterized by its wonderfully rich, warm and smoky flavors.
On The Eye : Burnt Sienna. Breathe In : Dark chocolate and raisin aromas compliment the classic Bowmore smokiness. Sip : Wonderful cedar wood and rich treacle toffee flavours. Savour : Spicy, toffee, sherry and barley.
